xFiles Wayles Browne Burgenland & Croatia
I have an interest, a question, and an offer of help. The INTEREST: I am a teacher of Croatian (the kind spoken in Croatia) and other Slavic languages. I have visited Burgenland and started analyzing the differences between Burgenland Croatian and Croatia Croatian, and published a linguistics paper on this. The QUESTION: Has anybody analyzed the local varieties of German spoken in Burgenland (I understand they are called Hianzn)? I ask that because I'm wondering how much they have influenced Burgenland Croatian in the last 5 centuries, and so I need to know more details about them. The HELP OFFER: I am a translator from Croatia Croatian (and other languages) to English, and would be happy to help people with documents written in Croatian.
