Bernarditz Kaitlyn Schmit Punitz (Pónicz) My great-grandfather Michael Cseri (1895-1942) was born in Punitz, house #37. He immigrated to New York City through Baltimore in Nov. 1912. Three of his siblings also immigrated to NYC: Steven Cseri, Anna Hoffman nee Cseri, Hedwig/Hattie List nee Cseri. His siblings Herman, Andreas, Franz, and Joseph remained in Austria. Michael's parents were named Joseph Cseri (1865 - 1925) and Theresia Horvath (1867 - 1918). Marriage record lists them as living at #37 and #53. Joseph's parents were Michael Cseri (1826 - 1866) and Apollonia Holczer (1838 - ?) and his grandparents were possibly Gyorgy Cseri (1792 - 1856) and Anna Hoffman (1805 - >). There were two Theresia Horvaths in Punitz of around the same age. One lived in #53 and the other in #20. Austrian family has handwritten records saying that Theresia Horvath's parents are Joseph Horvath and Teresia Bernarditz, #20, but the marriage record says that our Theresia lived at #53, which means her mom would be Anna Brenner. I'm not sure. Maybe the family record is an incorrect assumption. My great-grandmother Maria Rosenitsch (1906 - 1995) was born in Neutal. She immigrated to NYC through Elis Island in 1922 and married Michael Cherry in NYC around 1928. Her younger two brothers, Johann and Stephan, immigrated to Canada. Maria's parents were Johann Rosenitsch and Theresia Dominkovitz. Possible grandparents were: Stefan Rosenitz + Anna Osterits, and Joseph Dominovitz + Elisabetta Rathmanner. Someone in the Burganland Bunch helped an adopted 3rd cousin build this tree, but I have not verified the names further-up nor have I been able to find records in Neutal.

Bock Donna Marie Seyfried My mother Marie Seyfried nee Bock was a the daughter of Mary/Marie Stranzl (b US but raised in Glasing) and Michel S Bock (Hoell). My maternal great grandfather Josef Louis Stranzl (1885-1967) in Ehrensdorf, son of Louis Alois? Stranzl and Josephine Monshein. He emigrated at age 17 in 1903 to Northampton PA. He had a brother Alois Stranzl who may or may not have emigrated to the US, and a sister Rosina Titz (Tietz) nee Stranzl who emigrated to the US in 1923. Later Josef Stranzl married Rosina Schmidt and they lived in Coplay PA. They returned to Ehrensdorf in 1910 to leave their 2 yr old first born/daughter Marie (Mary) Stranzl ( 1908- 1971)to be raised by her grandparents Alois Stranzl (b abt 1860?)until she was 14, and was called to return to the US to work (1922). My paternal grandfather Michael S Bock (1903-1987), son of Michel Bock (born 1875?) and Julianna Gillinger (born abbt 1880), and he had 2 sisters and a brother. Michael emigrated to Coplay in 1923, the only one of his family to do so. He married Marie Stranzl (Mary Bock) and remained in the Coplay/Hokendauqua PA area. His siblings who remained in Austria/Hungary were Angeloi ( who I believe with her family was left behind the Iron Curtain post WWII), George (remained in Hoell) and Maria Pouil or Paul nee Bock(2011) of near Mischendorf. Maria (b 1916?)was the youngest and had one daughter Margarethe Kreitner nee Paul,(1938-2018). I am searching for earlier records of births, deaths, marraiges, or other to locate the ancestors of Michael Bock still remaining in the Burgenland or nearby regions. My grandfather returned only once in 1972 and was able to visit his brother and sisters, even Angeloi with permission to enter the Iron Curtain, although I recall him saying she no longer spoke German. I have photos from his trip. I took my family in June 2018 to visit the Burgenland and meet my only know relative, Margarethe Kreitner in Mischendorf- she was 82 years old. Her husband and only son Dietmar Kreitner had died in Dec. 2016 and 2017 respectively and she had only her husband's sister Edeltraut as a living relative. With an interpreter we were able to have a lovely afternoon. Sadly her father xxx Paul had died age 29 in Russia during WWII leaving her mother a young widow, unprotected during the Russian occupation post the war. These memories were too difficult for her, so we did not talk more. She did take us to her cemetery close by where her parents (Mary and xxx Paul), her husband and son were buried but I do not recall the name. I am hoping that you may be able to guide me in my genealogy search for records on both th Stranz and Bock families who remained in the Burgenland.

Brenner Kaitlyn Schmit Punitz (Pónicz) My great-grandfather Michael Cseri (1895-1942) was born in Punitz, house #37.

Buchfeller Caroline Yost Dunleavy Neustift bei Güssing (Újtelep) Maternal grandfather John Buchfeller of Neustift bei Güssing settled in Coplay, PA, and was a machinist for Mack Trucks in Allentown. He married Caroline Yost, who was born in Pennsylvania, sent back to Inzenhof as a child and returned later to the US. Paternal grandfather Adolph Yost of Rábafüses, Hungary, settled in Stiles, PA, and was a cement packer. His wife Cecelia Failer was likely from Neustift bei Güssing. The two Yost lines are unrelated.
Buchhaas Mary Kay Felton Harka (Harkau), Hungary My family left Harka Hungary twice. My grandfather, Samuel Payer, son of Tobias Payer and Theresia Reitter came to the United States when Samuel was a boy. Samuel, his brother Albert, and their parents came to the United States in the early 1900s. Sam and Alberts younger brother Tobias Payer, Jr. (Toby) and younger sister, Marie, were born in the US. Sam was in the US army in WWI. Sam later returned to Hungary when his mother became ill with Tuberculosis and wanted to return to her home in Hungary. The second time my grandfather left Harkau was with the evacuation in 1945, when the Russians took over the village. They evacuated to Austria and later emigrated to the US to join the family they already had living there. When they left Hungary for the final time (in 1945), Sam was married to Anna Maria (Marie) Klein. The couple left Hungary with their four children, Frida, Ernst, Emma (my mother) and Fritz Payer. Their names were still on the Protestant Church wall when I visited in 2006. I would like more information about both my Payer and my Klein lines, and the various other lines of each of my grandparents. Payer, Klein, Reitter, Wilfing, Eckel, Buchhaas, and Payerl are among those, but I have few specific details. I would love to see copies of primary birth, marriage and death records for my family and their ancestors.
